Interactive Guide | Improving Your Counter-Terrorism Response: A Six-Step Guide to Adhering to the EU’s TCO Regulation

Want to improve your counter-terrorism response?

Come help us tackle the terrorist online threat & learn what to do with this six-step guide on the TCO Regulation requirements and further counter-terrorism measures you can (easily) take.

With the European regulation on addressing the dissemination of terrorist content online (TCO Regulation) the EU brought forward an approach to tackle terrorist content online transnationally (EU-widely). With this regulation, hosting service providers (HSPs) are taken up on their responsibility: If a HSP receives an official removal order from a competent authority, it must remove the respective content within one hour upon receipt. The TCO Regulation requires HSPs to be ready to act 24/7 and, additionally, brings further obligations to them.

In the course of the Tech Against Terrorism Europe (TATE) project, we are dedicated to equipping especially small(er) HSPs and IT professionals with knowledge, practical tips and hands-on advice on how to meet the TCO requirements and how to keep their platforms safe from terrorist and other forms of harmful content. Thus, as one resource, we have created a guide breaking down these requirements.
